Sugar Free Kids Maryland is Coming to Your Region, Make Plans to Join Us!
Sugar Free Kids Maryland is pleased to announce it will be holding regional coalition meetings throughout the year in order to bring coalition members to the table and expand partnerships. Meetings will be held in locations throughout the state.
2017 promises to be an exciting year as the coalition continues to fight against the increases in unhealthy weight, type 2 diabetes, tooth decay and other chronic conditions in children and families. We are also working hard to cut down on healthcare costs to Marylanders.
We are currently working to pass the Maryland Healthy Vending Choices Act, which would make healthier packaged snack food and drinks more widely available in vending machines on state property. Similar initiatives are in the works at the local level. We want to hear from our members!
Our coalition values your input on winning strategies and future initiatives. We encourage you to join one of the meetings and bring a guest or two from other, like-minded organizations, who would be interested in joining our fight. We will discuss trends in chronic disease, policy solutions to combat sugar consumption and strategies for working together to improve the health of Marylanders.
Please be on the lookout for meeting announcements in future communications. The next meeting will be taking place in Prince George’s County. Future locations include Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County.
